Fisher Auditorium

Special location in Fisher Auditorium — What lessons are learned from the Sandusky case, and how does Title IX and IUP policy protect students?

For almost a year, the unfolding Sandusky sex abuse scandal at Penn State University has captured public attention. Looking beyond headlines and sound bites, we'll examine the implications and lessons that institutions of higher education, including IUP, may draw from these tragic events.

We'll also learn about the more frequently occurring incidents of sexual violence and sexual harassment facing college students, the requirements of Title IX, and newly revised policies regarding this at IUP.

Featured speakers: Professor Gwendolyn Torges, Political Science, and Professor John Wesley Lowery, Student Affairs in Higher Education
