On-Campus Program Requirements
Students seeking admission to the IUP on-campus master’s degree in Business Administration must meet the following minimum criteria:
- Completed undergraduate degree in any field from an accredited university with a minimum grade point average of 2.6. Official transcripts required.
- Official GMAT scores. A minimum total GMAT score of 450 is required for further review of the application.
- Two letters of recommendation from professors/teachers; professional letters of recommendation from employers/supervisors are acceptable from those who have completed their previous degree more than four years ago.
- A copy of your recent résumé.
- A one-page goal statement indicating your motivations and rationale for pursuing the IUP MBA program.
International Applicants
- International applicants whose native language is not English must submit official TOEFL scores. A minimum TOEFL score of 207 (computer-based test score) or 540 (paper-based test score) or 76 (Internet-based test score) is required for further review of the application. An IELTS score of 6.0 or higher is also acceptable.
- International students must submit the Foreign Student Financial Affidavit (form included in the application packet) to demonstrate availability of sufficient funds for the duration of their studies at IUP.
- Official English translation of transcripts are required if the original transcript is not in English.

Off-Campus Program Requirements
(Monroeville, Johnstown, and Northpointe program)
Students seeking admission to the IUP off-campus master’s degree in Business Administration must meet the following minimum criteria:
- Completed bachelor’s degree in any field with grade point average of 2.6 or higher. Official transcripts required.
- GMAT of 450 or higher. GMAT waiver possible for U.S. applicants with four or more years of work experience. (All international students are required to take the GMAT test.)
- Two letters of recommendation from professors/teachers; professional letters of recommendation from employers/supervisors are acceptable from those who have completed their previous degree more than four years ago.
- A copy of your recent résumé.
- A one-page goal statement indicating your motivations and rationale for pursuing the IUP MBA program.
*The off-campus programs are not available to international students.
Application Requirements
- Official transcripts from every college or university attended, including institutions from which a degree was not earned
- Goal statement essay
- Two letters of recommendation. Submit letters via e-mail to graduate-admissions@iup.edu. E-mailed letters must come directly from the recommender. Letters may also be submitted via postal mail. They must be on company letterhead and signed by the recommender. Please ask recommenders to include your full name (first name, middle initial, and last name) and the program to which you are applying.
