Music Theater 2011–2012

Music Theater is produced by the Department of Music and presents two major productions each year, including an opera and a musical coproduction with Theater-by-the-Grove.

The 2011–2012 season of Music Theater concluded with the presentation of Chess. We plan to announce the 2012–2013 season by the end of May 2012. For other events planned, please find the link for our events calendar below.

The Department of Theater and Dance is fully accredited by the National Schools of Theater. The Department of Music is fully accredited by the National Schools of Music.

Theater-by-the-Grove, Dance Theater, and Music Theater are funded, in part, by the IUP Student Cooperative Association.

The Old Maid and the Thief/The Telephone

Music by Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus, lyrics by Tim Rice, book by Richard Nelson, and directed by Jeannie Marie Brown with musical direction by Sarah Mantel.
A Theater-by-the-Grove and Music Theater co-production, a rock-scored metaphor for rivalry, gamesmanship, and political maneuvering
