To protect our veterans, their families, and survivors who have veteran-owned small businesses (VOSB), President Obama signed the Veterans Small Business Verification Act contained in the Veterans Benefits Act of 2010 on October 13, 2010.
The Veterans Small Business Verification Act expands the Veterans Administration’s requirement to verify business status as owned and operated by veterans, service-disabled veterans, or eligible surviving spouses.
Office of Veterans Business Development
The SBA’s Office of Veterans Business Development is responsible for liaison with the veterans business community; for policy analysis and reporting; for acting as an ombudsman for Veterans in Small Business Administration programs; for providing business training, counseling, and assistance; and for overseeing the federal procurement programs for small businesses owned by veterans and service-disabled veterans.

Qualifying Your Business as a VOSB
Step 1. Go to Vetbiz.gov.
Step 2. Create a user account.
Step 3. Business owners must complete e-Signature documents (Forms 0877).
Step 4. Enter Veteran-Owned Small Business information.
Step 5. Department of Veterans Affairs Center for Veterans Enterprise verification of majority of business ownership by Veterans
Step 6. Final verification by Department of Veterans Affairs Center for Veterans Enterprise
