We are putting the final touches on next year’s Ovations! season, but we can’t quite announce it until all contracts are signed, grants are secured, sponsors are on board, and venues are set. But here’s a rundown of what we have planned, albeit accompanied by a good dose of mystery.
We hope to be able to make a formal announcement by mid-May, with our donors receiving first notification. This will also include announcements for events in the University Museum and Kipp Gallery and for Theater-by-the-Grove, Sound Choices, Music Theater, and Dance Theater.
So, here are some hints for you about the 2012–2013 season being finalized:

- One of our world’s finest classical musicians in a rare solo recital performance
- Renowned string quartet, to include a performance with our own resident Litton Quartet
- Dance work combining Chinese- and Korean-based performing artists
- Jazz project that celebrates Black History Month
- Wacky, whimsical group from the U.K. that gives new meaning to Hawaiian music
- Another hit Broadway touring show, this one not for the younger set
- A show for the entire family that brings a popular, fun classic to the stage
- Folk and Latin flair from Colombia, South America
- Ultimate in world-class jazz big band music
- Broadway musical*related event that will have everyone singing along
- Inspiring, family musical celebration for Veterans Day
