In this episode of Budget Matters, released April 11, 2012, David Werner, IUP interim president, discusses how this year’s budget promises to be more challenging than the last, especially with the governor’s proposed 20 percent budget cut. Werner stresses that the first goal will be to protect positions, and that furloughs would be the last option. Maintaining enrollment is one of the highest priorities in addressing next years’ budget.
