Personal Narrative:

Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) equipped me with the knowledge and skills required of an effective and successful teacher. I will be forever thankful. Shortly after graduation, I had the opportunity and privilege to teach in Hartly, Delaware. During my 10 years, I built wonderful relationships with my students, families, colleagues, and administrators. I am extremely thankful to Mrs. Lybarger, my principal, who hired me for my first teaching position. With continued schooling in Delaware, I was able to move back to my hometown area and teach at IUP. I love teaching and learning with the IUP campus community. Our students are the “bestest of the best.”

In addition to teaching, researching, and serving, I spend a lot of my time with my family. Since some of our family live in Delaware, we enjoy going to the Lewes, Rehoboth, and Dewey beaches. We also spend time with my parents and my sisters’ families in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. There is always a lot of love and laughter when we are together.
