The university is concerned for employee safety and security. The IUP Department of Public Safety/University Police and the Office of Human Resources encourage employees to complete a free workplace security awareness online course entitled “Active Shooter, What You Can Do.”
Offered through the Department of Homeland Security, this self-paced, independent study course provides guidance on how to prepare for and respond to a critical incident involving an active shooter.
The course is free of charge and takes approximately forty-five minutes to complete. Questions regarding this training should be directed to Sam Clutter, director of Public Safety/University Police, at 724-357-3200.
Employees who complete this free online course should send a copy of the certificate of program completion to the Office of Human Resources, Sutton Hall G-8.
