“Expanding the Mainstream”
Featured Speaker: Mr. Rhys R. Reese, cofounder of Superior Well Services
Sponsored by the IUP Supplier Diversity Council, the Expanding the Mainstream Business Opportunities Fair is an initiative to provide opportunities for business-to-business and business-to-government matching and networking opportunities. Develop business relationships and contacts that will benefit you and your organization. The event is the first of its kind in the brand-new 143,000-square-foot Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex, located on the Indiana University of Pennsylvania campus.
A successful entrepreneur, Mr. Reese will discuss the fifteen-year journey from a “what if” between three coworkers to a $900-million cash buyout. The various steps, milestones, entities, acquisitions, partners, and relationships required to reach Superior’s current status will be discussed: from five employees in the spring of 1997 to a one-thousand-employee NASDAQ-listed company in the summer of 2004, growth through acquisitions to 3,800 employees in 2009, and completion a merger/buyout with the world’s largest land-based driller, Nabors Industries, Ltd., in 2010. The discussion will provide insight into what strategies and relationships proved successful.
In addition to the exciting and inspiring speaker, the Expanding the Mainstream Business Opportunities Fair will allow businesses to spotlight their organization, commodities, and services with government representatives and successful business enterprises. Sponsorships and prime exhibitor space will be available. Registration will begin on January 26, 2011.
