Adobe Flex is the result of an evolution of the Flash platform to meet the need of a more robust programming framework. Flex is used today in many different applications, most commonly Rich Internet Applications (RIA), and recently as a solution for developing mobile applications. In the latest release of the Flex SDK there is the ability to develop your mobile application once, then cross-compile it for whatever platform you want. Whether you want to release for iPhone, Android, or Blackberry, it’s as easy as clicking a checkbox. Adobe Flex is a great framework to learn because you can reach the very large audience of anyone with Flash installed on their browser (99% of internet enabled PCs), as well as iPhone, Android, and Blackberry devices.
