The Punxsutawney Chamber of Commerce asked the Punxsutawney Rotary Club if they would be willing to help weed and fertilize the trees in the downtown area along Mahoning Street. Dr. Raymond Beisel is a member of the Punxsutawney Rotary Club, so, on October 6, 2011, he and a group of his First Year Seminar students made the trek downtown to help out.
First Year Seminar students Samantha Bennett, Michael Cooper, Nathan Black, Sage Mauser, Bria Horton, and Dr. Beisel helped with the project.
After working, they were treated to Laska’s Pizza, a local favorite.
