On-campus Recruiting

To establish an on-campus recruiting date, contact Jan Shellenbarger at 724-357-2235 (phone) or jans@iup.edu (e-mail) to determine the availability of your preferred recruiting date.

Registering with College Central.com is the next step in the on-campus recruiting process. Complete and submit the Employer Registration screen. The Career Development Center will assign you a password by e-mail.

Once registered and approved, go to the above Web address, click on the Employer icon, then select Online Services and enter your access ID and password. This will bring you to the On-Line Employer Account screen.

Next, and very important: To post a job for on-campus recruiting:

  • Select the Post Edit or Repost OCR Jobs; Check Submissions and Schedules option under the On-campus Interviewing heading.
  • Select the option you need: Post a New Job or Repost a Job.
  • Complete and submit the Job Posting Entry information. Once your information is received by the Career Development Center, a schedule is attached to it and students can begin to submit their resumes for interview consideration. Through e-mail correspondence, we will advertise your recruiting visit to students and faculty in academic departments representing your area of interest.
  • It is the responsibility of the recruiter to check the resumes and pre-select the candidates to be interviewed. To pre-select candidates or view your interview schedule, go to the On-Line Employer Account screen, click on the Post, Edit or Repost OCR Jobs; Check Submissions and Schedules option under the On-campus Interviewing heading, then click on the tab you wish to perform—Submissions or Schedule.

If you would like to advertise your campus recruiting visit in the Penn (the campus newspaper published on Tuesday and Friday) contact their office directly by phone, 724-357-1306 or by e-mail, the-penn@iup.edu.

A letter of confirmation will be mailed to you, which will include a campus map and parking permit.

For recruiters scheduling an information session the evening before, a graduate assistant from the Career Development Center will serve as your host. He or she will meet you at the meeting location to make certain that your location and equipment needs have been met and to introduce you to the audience.
