Dr. Laura Delbrugge

Laura DelbruggeDr. Laura Delbrugge is a Professor of Spanish in the Department of Foreign Languages.

She received her Ph.D. in Spanish Medieval Literature and Historical Linguistics from the Pennsylvania State University in 1996.

Dr. Delbrugge is the author of three editions of medieval Spanish texts by the converso Andrés de Li, including the Reportorio de los tiempos, published by Tamesis Press in 1999, and A Critical Edition of Andrés de Li'sSumma de paciencia (1505) by Mellen Press in 2003. Her most recent book is A Scholarly Edition of Andrés de Li's Thesoro de la passion (1494), which was published by Brill in 2011. In addition, her book chapter, “Pragmatism, Patience, and the Passion: The Converso Element in the Summa de paciencia (1493) and the Thesoro de la passion (1494),” has been published in Conversos of Medieval Iberia (Leiden: Brill Publishers, Medieval and Early Modern Iberian World Series, 2012). She is currently working on an edited volume for Brill on Self-Fashioning in Medieval Iberia.

Dr. Delbrugge teaches Intermediate Spanish, Hispanic Civilization, Introduction to Hispanic Literature, and Spanish Medieval Literature (undergraduate and graduate).

Dr. Delbrugge's Fall 2013 office hours are Tuesdays from 1:00–3:00, Wednesdays from 1:30–3:00, and Fridays from 10:30–12:00; other times by appointment. She may be met in Sutton Hall, Room 464, and also in Sutton Hall, Room 204.
