Jean-Louis DassierDr. Jean-Louis Dassier earned his Ph.D. in Foreign and Second Language of Education at Ohio State University in 1997.

Dr. Dassier also earned a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree at the Universite de Paris VIII, majoring in English and American Civilization and Culture. In addition, he earned a M.A. from the University of Delaware in French Literature (XVIIth/XVIIIth centuries) and Applied Linguistics in 1992.

Before coming to IUP, Dr. Dassier worked at the University of Southern Mississippi, where he taught French at the undergraduate level and designed and codirected the Masters of Arts in the Teaching of Languages. He also taught French and Education courses at Northern Michigan University, where he was the supervisor of the Foreign Language teachers certification program. Dr. Dassier has extensive experience in the use of computers in academia and in program assessment.

Dr. Dassier's Spring 2013 office hours are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m., and Tuesdays from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (other times by appointment). He is not available for meetings on Thursdays.
