Online Foreign Language Placement Exam

Below are the basic instructions for accessing the WebCAPE Foreign Language Placement exam online. Complete instructions are available for download as well.

  1. Connect to the placement exam website.
  2. Select “Indiana University of Pennsylvania (iup) from the pull down menu, click GO.
  3. On the next page, enter the password: placement (in all lower case) and press the login button.
  4. Select the language you are learning (French) and click Begin.
  5. Enter your information. Use your banner number for the ID number field. Click Continue.
  6. You will be given a sample question. The test begins after you answer the sample question.
