What Does Accreditation by the American Culinary Federation Mean to Me as a Student?

Academic Quality

Accreditation by American Culinary Federation Education Foundation Accrediting Commission assures that a program is meeting at least a minimum of standards and competencies set for faculty, curriculum, and student services. ACFEFAC is recognized by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation.

ACF Accreditation of a Program Ensures:

  • Curriculum is meeting established industry standards
  • Program accountability and credibility
  • High level of professionalism
  • Up-to-date and current practices

Certification Opportunities for Students

Graduates of ACFEFAC-accredited postsecondary degree or certificate/diploma programs are eligible to receive either a Certified Culinarian or Certified Pastry Culinarian certification, depending on the concentration of their program, without paying any fees or taking any separate exams.

All graduates must provide a copy of their final transcript showing date of graduation and documentation of ACF membership at the time of graduation. Certificate/diploma graduates must also document one year of entry level work experience to receive their certification. Application and documentation must be submitted within one year of graduation.
