The following is a list of the professionals who will be speaking on diversity in the sports industry at the 2016 Pennsylvania Sports Business Conference held April 16, 2016, at the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex. More to come...

Charlie Batch
Charlie Batch: Former NFL quarterback and two-time Super Bowl champion

Charlie is also a community advocate, author, media personality, and professional speaker who takes his “Expect Your Best” message to audiences across the country at Fortune 500 companies, nonprofit organizations, universities, and more.

Aj anderson
A.J. Anderson: Assistant Director of Athletics, Saint Francis University

Anderson is a 1999 graduate of Lock Haven University, where he was also a four-year starter in football. Before coming to Saint Francis, Anderson served as recruiting coordinator and running backs coach at Albright College. He also earned his master’s degree in Education from Saint Francis in 2005. He was named the assistant director of Athletics for Facilities and Operations in 2014 after serving more than one season as the university’s first director of operations for Athletics. He enters his 12th season at Saint Francis University in 2015–16.

Judy Willson
Judy Willson:
Associate Director of Communications, Mountain West Conference

Judy Willson graduated from Geneva College in 1988 with an undergraduate degree in psychology with minors in business administration and public relations. She also earned a master’s degree in physical education with an emphasis in sports administration from Eastern New Mexico University in 1997. Now she is in her sixth year as a member of the Mountain West communications staff. In her role at the MW, Willson currently serves as the primary media contact for women’s basketball, volleyball, baseball, and women’s swimming and diving, in addition to assisting with the overall communications operation.

Jodi Witte
Jodi Witte: Director of Sales and Corporate Partnerships, Pittsburgh Riverhounds

Jodi Witte is director of sales and corporate partnerships at the Pittsburg Riverhounds. Witte also manages and supports the Highmark Stadium and Riverhounds Development Academy sponsors, all three of which support each other. Previously, she was in a sales and sponsorship role with IMG College: University of Pittsburgh, the Carolina RailHawks men’s pro team, and the 2011 and 2015 U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Cary, North Carolina. She is a graduate of Ohio University, Athens Ohio.

Greg Caprara: Owner, Caprara Sports Marketing

A 1987 graduate of IUP, Greg Caprara enjoys a 29-year career that touches on nearly every aspect of the sports industry. Greg has coached at Florida State, Syracuse, and Colgate Universities. He was a lecturer in the Athletic Coaching Education program at WVU and has managed municipal recreation facilities, including golf courses and an ice arena. He also worked as a high school athletic director. Most recently, Greg served as director of national sales for StatEasy, a sports software company, and director of Athletic Development at California University of Pennsylvania.

Dee Eppinger
Dee Eppinger:
Associate Director of Compliance, West Virginia University Athletics

Danielle “Dee” Eppinger received her bachelor’s degree in sport administration with a minor in business in May 2011 from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) and earned a master’s degree in sport management from WVU in May 2013. Dee is the associate director of Compliance at West Virginia University and is responsible for monitoring all recruiting activity, complimentary admissions, camps, and clinics. Eppinger also ensures that WVU athletes comply with NCAA and institutional rules and regulations, and assists in rules education sessions with student-athletes, coaches, and staff.

Buffy Filippell: Founder and President, TeamWork Online

A graduate of Indiana University (Bloomington) with a 1976 bachelor of science degree in health, physical education, and recreation, Filippell is one of the most honored and respected leaders and women in the sports world, having not only created TeamWork Online as a first-of-its-kind mobile talent recruiting system focused on connecting the right candidate with the right employer on the business in sports and live events, but also having been the first female agent at IMG and one of the very first recruiters to focus on sports while at Korn/Ferry. She currently serves on the Dean’s Associates Board for Indiana University’s School of Public Health. TeamWork has also established regular, live networking, career fairs, and educational events for aspiring professionals.

Zach Henderson: Account Executive, Pittsburgh Pirates

Zach is an account executive with the Pittsburgh Pirates who has been with the organization since June 2013. He decided to continue his education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Sport Administration and a minor is Business and Economics. Zach was the first intern for the Sports Business Conference at IUP, assisting with getting the conference off the ground and with sponsorship. While attending the conference his junior year, Zach made a connection that led him into a Pittsburgh Steelers marketing internship his senior year. Upon graduation, Zach started with the Pittsburgh Pirates Inside Sales department, where he stayed for nine months. At the end of nine months, Zach was officially promoted into his current role of account executive with the New Business Development staff in March 2014

Whitney Jones
Whitney Jones:
Competitive and Recreational Sports Coordinator, University of Pittsburgh

Whitney graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) in 2010 with a bachelor of science degree in Sports Administration. She also earned a master’s degree in Sports Studies from IUP in 2012, where she served as the James G. Mill Fitness Center manager in the department. Whitney joined the Department of Intramurals and Recreation at the University of Pittsburgh in the summer of 2015 as the competitive and recreational sports coordinator. She is now in charge of scheduling the various intramural and recreational facilities on campus as well as overseeing the club and recreational sports teams. She also assists with intramurals and the marketing efforts of the department.

Amos Leak:
Marketing Representative for Adidas, Maryland

Amos Leak earned his bachelor of science degree in Sports Administration from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) in 2009, went on to earn a master’s degree in Sports Administration from Delaware State University in 2011, and is currently continuing his education at Towson University to receive his second master’s in marketing intelligence. Amos is currently the marketing representative in Maryland for Adidas. His background also includes sports marketing and management work with Nike, Converse, Reebok, Comcast-Spectacor, Brooklyn Nets, IUP men’s basketball, and Temple University Athletics. He continues to work with several community nonprofit programs and manages/consults for professional athletes.

Brandon Rudolph
Brandon Rudolph:
Fitness Center Manager, Ft. Belvoir

Brandon works as the fitness center manager with Defense, Logistics, and Acquisitions at Ft. Belvoir military base in Ft. Belvoir, Virginia. Before that, Brandon has worked as a customer care and business manager at Georgetown Law Sport and Fitness Center. In addition to his full-time role, Brandon owns and operates his own business, Body Balance Fitness, which provides in-home personal training and nutrition services for clients all over Washington, D.C., Arlington, and Maryland. 

Don Sheldon
Don Sheldon:
Account Services, Buffalo Bills

Don Sheldon is currently the manager of Account Services for the Buffalo Bills. This upcoming season is Sheldon’s eighth with the Bills. In his position, Sheldon works with all season ticket holders, including managing ticket accounts, their representatives, and all other inquiries on a daily basis. He previously worked with the Columbus Blue Jackets as a ticket services coordinator for two seasons. He is also an adjunct professor at Canisius College in Buffalo, N.Y., where he teaches sports management classes. Sheldon was a graduate of Daniel Webster College in Nashua, New Hampshire. 

John Simpson
John Simpson:
Marketing Manager/Events, Pittsburgh Steelers

John graduated from Indiana University of Pa in 1979 with a business management degree, economics minor. From 1979–98, John has worked in Hills Department Stores, Koenig Sporting Goods, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Champs Sports in various store level and home office retail management positions. From 1998 till now, he worked for the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Marketing Department as marketing manager/events.
