Deferred Compensation Program — 457

The State System participates in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Deferred Compensation Program currently administered through Great West.

This program is a supplemental retirement savings program authorized under Section 457 of the Internal Revenue Code. All Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) employees are eligible to participate, and eligible employees can enroll at any time.

Through the Deferred Compensation Program, you can contribute a portion of your salary for retirement on a pre-tax basis. Participation in the Deferred Compensation Program is voluntary. You make the entire contribution; there is no employer match.

To enroll in the program, you will need to complete an enrollment form, beneficiary form, and salary deferral agreement. These forms are available on the Deferred Compensation Program website under the Enroll section or by contacting IUP’s Great West representative, William Poletti, at 866-737-7457 (press 2, extension 62230), or at william.poletti@gwrs.com.

A contract with Great West must be established prior to beginning biweekly payroll deductions.
