The School of Graduate Studies and Research provides faculty and student support in grant writing and research. Student funds for research are available on a competitive basis for support up to $500. Students in the Safety Sciences Department have successfully received this research support.
Scholarships/Awards

Grace Allman Safety Sciences Industrial Hygiene Award
Since 1990, this $500 award has been given annually to the student who has shown the most consistent interest and highest academic performance in the area of industrial hygiene. Safety Sciences faculty members choose one recipient each spring semester, based on the following criteria:
- Must be a senior safety science major
- Must achieve an overall QPA of 2.75 with a QPA of 3.0 in the required industrial hygiene courses of SA 301, 303, and 402.
The award is made possible by an endowment from the Johnson family, life-long supporters of IUP and the Safety Sciences Program, honoring Grace Johnson Allman.
