The Black Student League (BSL)

Black Student League

The Black Student League is a governing body that addresses the needs and interests of minority students. The organization’s aim is to help students experience a more comfortable transition to college life.

Stimulating the unity of the black students at IUP is the main purpose of the Black Student League. With that goal in mind, this organization will pursue the path of providing programs to meet the academic, cultural, political, and social needs of black students. This organization shall also function as a representative of the black students, to air their needs and feelings concerning certain issues which may affect any facet of their lives while living here in Indiana. This organization shall strive to initiate and maintain a level of communication with the black students registered at the university and, by doing so, hope to achieve a band of communications branching out not only to the black students, but also to the other students as well. Membership is open to any student who is currently attending IUP. For more information on this organization, please contact the president and/or advisor listed below.
