The Black Emphasis Committee (BEC)

The mission of the Black Emphasis committee is to provide social and recreational activities for minority students attending IUP and to promote and deepen minority and majority students’ understanding of African American heritage and culture. The organization will work closely with the African American Cultural Center to help ensure broad offerings and fulfillment of goals and objectives that will benefit African American students. Participation in this program is open to every member of the IUP community who has an interest in identifying programs consistent with the mission of the Black Emphasis Committee.
