IUP Faculty and Staff

Instructions for Faculty

Faculty members and/or departments that are interested in offering degree programs to qualified individuals should:

  • Identify occupations from the High Priority Occupations listing that are career options as a result of the degree.
  • Identify the academic major that leads to the occupation.
  • Contact Paula Andrei at pandrei@iup.edu to request that the program be added to statewide list of approved programs.

Benefits of Participation

  • Allows IUP programs to be available to eligible participants throughout the Commonwealth, thereby increasing enrollment.
  • Assist unemployed workers in beginning and/or completing a degree.
  • Provide training in high-demand occupations, therefore meeting the needs of employers.

What follow-up is required of the department or faculty member?

As students begin coursework toward the degree, federal legislation mandates that attendance verification forms be signed by each of the student’s instructors at the conclusion of every class session. These attendance records are provided to the student and are then turned in by the student to the IUP WIA-funded coordinator for submission. It is the responsibility of the student to complete and submit this documentation.
