Potential Student-CareerLink Client

Important Steps You Should Take:

  1. Contact the CareerLink Office to discuss your eligibility. Your CareerLink case manager will assist you in identifying labor market trends and help guide you towards a career path that meets your career interests and will lead to self-sustaining employment.
  2. Explore the Commonwealth Workforce Development System (CWDS) to review the list of IUP-approved programs that will lead to your career goal. If a program you are seeking is not listed, contact Paula Andrei at Remember, the program training must lead to employment in a high-priority occupation.
  3. Once your eligibility is confirmed, work with your CareerLink case manager to begin the IUP admissions process.
  4. Contact Paula Andrei, WIA coordinator, at to work out contract details and enroll at IUP.

Important Notice to Potential Students:

  • You must be enrolled as full-time student on a continual basis.
  • Both undergraduate and graduate programs are eligible for training.
  • Individual benefits will vary between CareerLink offices.
  • Certain online programs may not be eligible for funding. Consult your CareerLink case manager for advisement.
  • Students wishing to attain a degree must work closely with an IUP faculty advisor and WIA coordinator to determine the length of time needed to complete the degree so that the training benefits will be expended at the time the degree is awarded. Students may need to complete coursework prior to applying for WIA benefits.
  • Attendance records for each class session must be completed by the student and instructor and submitted to the IUP WIA coordinator.
