For Poster Presentations
If you are making a poster, please keep in mind that the trifold poster size is thirty-six inches high by forty-eight inches wide. The School of Graduate Studies and Research will provide a trifold poster for your use. Once you complete the on-line submission for your poster, you can pick up a trifold poster no later than March 27, 2009, in Stright Hall, Room 129. If you provide your own poster board, it will need to be free standing and small enough that two posters can be displayed side by side on an eight-foot table.
All poster presentations will be displayed in the HUB Ohio Room. You must register and set up your poster between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 7. You will be expected to be at the poster session on Tuesday, April 7, to discuss your poster or answer questions about your work. The times for the poster session will be posted once the schedule is finalized.

For Oral Presentations
Your presentation may be fifteen minutes long, plus five minutes for questions and answers. Your presentation will be part of a session that includes up to four presentations. Session chairs will keep the presentations on schedule, and presentations may not go beyond twenty minutes total. You will be notified by e-mail about when your presentation is scheduled as soon as the conference sessions are finalized.
Each presenter will have access to a computer and an LCD projector. If you plan to use PowerPoint, please be sure to have your presentation loaded onto a flash or jump drive so that you can simply open the presentation from that drive. You will not be able to access any shared network folders from the computer in the presentation room.
The forum organizers understand that the forum is held on a day when classes are in session. However, presenters are strongly encouraged to stay for their entire session in case questions arise in during other presentations related to your presentation and so that other presenters in the same session are not disrupted.

For Performances/Exhibits
Undergraduate students in the creative arts are invited to participate in the conference by presenting visual art installations, literary readings, or performances. Performances/presentations will be for a maximum of twenty minutes, allowing for a question and answer period during that timeframe. Musical performances will take place in Cogswell Hall.
For Business Presentations
The Eberly College of Business and Information Technology is holding a business case competition as part of the Undergraduate Scholars Forum. Interested undergraduates will receive a copy of the business case from the IUP Department of Management; please contact Joette Wisnieski (joette.wisnieski@iup.edu). After reviewing the case, students are expected to research the company, business environment, strategy, competition, and products and services and present their conclusions to an audience of business faculty members and business owners who serve as judges.
For Juried Art Exhibit

Award Information
To recognize exemplary scholarly achievements, monetary prizes are awarded. Awards will be given in these categories: best in session, posters, performances, bibliography, and juried art. Please see the awards page for more information.
Day of the Event Information
If you are presenting a poster, plan to arrive at the HUB by 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 7. This will allow you time to register and set up your poster presentation.
If you are giving an oral presentation or participating in the business case competition, plan to arrive at the HUB at least twenty minutes before your scheduled session. This will allow you time to register, locate your presentation room, and ensure that all technical matters are in order.
If you are giving a performance, you will register at the HUB before proceeding to your performance location. Please allow enough time to register and arrive at the performance location for your scheduled presentation.
If you are exhibiting your work at the Juried Art Exhibit, you will be given instructions by the College of Fine Arts. If you have any questions, contact Kyle Houser (khouser@iup.edu).
When you arrive at the HUB, you must stop at the registration table—near the front desk—to pick up your registration materials. Each presenter will have his or her own folder, even if a project has multiple presenters.
Please remember to dress appropriately. You should wear professional attire. Jeans and t-shirts are not acceptable.

Each category of competition will have its own judge. Please be prepared to show your best work in a professional manner.
An awards presentation will be held, during which the prizewinners in the various categories will be announced. We hope that all participants will attend the awards ceremony. The time and location of the awards presentation will be posted once the schedule is finalized.
Please encourage your faculty members, friends, and family to come to the forum; they will be impressed at the scope and professionalism of the presentations.
