Mark McGahen has worked with the PA/OSHA Consultation program for the past 15 years. Prior to this appointment, Mr. McGahen worked for over 18 years providing a wide range of loss control services for clients of the insurance industry. He received both his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Safety and Health from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Mr. McGahen also obtained certification by the Board of Certified Safety. The Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry certified him as an accident and illness consultant.
Mark has devoted much of his efforts to the development of safety and health programs and employee training for small- to medium-size businesses in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Kentucky. These efforts, including listening, evaluating, and strategizing the concerns of both management and labor, assist in improving corporate bottom-line loss costs. He combines regulatory compliance with effectively developing positive safety cultures.
Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Positions:
Mr. McGahen has belonged to the American Society of Safety Engineer as a past president and outreach chairman. He was also a member of the PA Governors Occupational Safety and Health (PA/GOSH) Conference Planning Committee as well as a program subcommittee for PA/GOSH. He served as a member of the Lancaster County Industrial Safety Council and has acted as a course instructor for OSHA General Industry classes.
