Oak Grove

  • Symbolic of IUP history and tradition, the Oak Grove has long been at the heart of the campus. Alumni remember the Oak Grove more than any other place on campus; for new students, this is where the memories begin.

Red-tailed hawks, native to Indiana County, have been spotted in the Oak Grove and were one of the inspirations for IUP’s new nickname, Crimson Hawks. Large numbers of Eastern Gray Squirrels call the Oak Grove home.

The Oak Grove is also the site of the September 11 Memorial, containing a relic from the World Trade Center and a granite memorial in honor of those lost in the September 11, 2001, attack.
