Princeton Review Selects IUP for 2011 “Best Colleges” Guidebook

The Princeton Review 373 Best Colleges, 2011 Edition

For the tenth consecutive year, IUP was selected by the Princeton Review for its annual “Best Colleges” guidebook.

Guidebook editors call the selected schools “the country’s best institutions for undergraduate education.”

The 2011 edition of the Princeton Review’s The Best 373 Colleges features only 15 percent of America’s 2,500 four-year colleges.

IUP was ranked as a “Best Northeastern College” for the second year in a row in the guidebook and is included in the Princeton Review’s The Best Northeastern Colleges, 2011 Edition guidebook. IUP is one of 218 institutions in an eleven-state region selected for the listing.

The Best 373 Colleges, 2011 EditionThe Princeton Review guidebooks accept no advertising dollars and use independent surveys from current students, recent graduates, and college officials to determine which colleges and universities merit inclusion. The books are a reflection of interviews with more than 100,000 college students from all over the country.

Students were quoted as saying that the university offers “excellent academic programs that are academically challenging” with “awesome professors who are concerned with students’ welfare and academic growth.”

In April, IUP’s Eberly College of Business and Information Technology was selected as one of fifteen graduate schools of business in the nation named to the Princeton Review’s second annual “Student Opinion Honors for Business Schools.” The listing was featured in the April issue of Entrepreneur Magazine.

The Eberly College of Business and Information Technology also has been selected for six consecutive years for the Princeton Review’s “Best Business Schools” (2005–2010).

In June 2007, Consumer Digest Magazine placed IUP fourth in its rankings of the “Best Values in Public Colleges and Universities.” In February 2007, IUP was ranked fortieth out of one hundred colleges and universities selected for Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine’s “The Kiplinger 100,” a listing of schools that combine outstanding value with a first-class education.

IUP was included in the 2005 issue of Entrepreneur Magazine as one of the top seventy-three colleges and universities in the nation ranked for excellence in “entrepreneurship emphasis.”
