Congratulations to the Secondary Social Studies Education program for earning full national recognition from the National Council of Social Studies.
In order to earn this recognition, the Social Studies Education program underwent a review that required the submission of six major comprehensive assessments which were aligned with NCSS standards.
Three of the assessments addressed content knowledge, two of the assessments addressed professional and pedagogical knowledge and skills, and one of the assessments addressed student learning.
The review also required data from those assessments indicating that candidates have mastered the proficiencies in the standards.
