The Western Pennsylvania/West Virginia chapter of the Association of College and Research Libraries held its spring 2010 conference at IUP on May 21. Two IUP Libraries faculty members spoke about grassroots initiatives in academic libraries.
Blaine Knupp, Reference Services coordinator, presented “The First GASP! (Graduate Academic Success Program): Developing a Library and Research Orientation Program Targeting Graduate Students,” and Dr. Kelly Heider, Education librarian, presented “Community Engagement through Collaborative Academic Library/Community Organization Programs.”
The keynote address, entitled “(R)evolutionary Academic Library Services,” was given by Danielle Theiss-White, General Reference coordinator at Hale Library, Kansas State University.
