Erin Holloway tossed a two-hit shutout to lead IUP’s softball team to a 4-0 victory over Bloomsburg, creating the need for a final game to decide the NCAA Atlantic Region subregional, but the host Huskies rebounded to eliminate the Crimson Hawks with a 6-0 win in Sunday’s second game (May 16, 2010).
The loss ended IUP’s season with a school-record 38 wins against 12 losses. The Crimson Hawks matched the 2005 team with three NCAA tournament wins and handed sixth-ranked Bloomsburg only its second shutout loss and sixth defeat of the season.
