University Museum Offers Plein Air Painting Workshop

In conjunction with his current exhibit in the University Museum, “Paint & Pixels” professional artist and IUP alumnus Ron Donoughe will offer a one-day painting workshop. The session will focus on plein air painting.

The workshop will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2010, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with participants meeting at the University Museum in Sutton Hall. The cost is $100 per person, and people can register by e-mailing Sally Daskivich at sdaskivi@iup.edu or call 724-357-2397. Registrants are asked to provide their own paint and materials along with a bag lunch.

The exhibit running at the museum, “Paint and Pixels,” showcases the work of twin brothers Ron and Don Donoughe. Originally from Loretto, Pa., both are graduates of IUP’s Art Department, having charted different but equally successful artistic paths. The exhbit features an eighty-piece mural wall by Ron Donoughe highlighting the beauty and warmth of Indiana County.
