Dr. Soo Lu, Department of History, will present a paper entitled “‘The Youth Problem’: Educating Overseas Chinese Youth in the Early Cold War” at the seventh meeting of the International Society for the Study of Chinese Overseas dedicated to “Migration, Indigenization and Exchange: Chinese Overseas from Global Perspectives” at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore on May 8, 2010.
Dr. Lu will present some of the research she has been doing since the summer of 2009. This research will serve as the basis for a chapter in a book project on the overseas Chinese and U.S. Cold War policy.
