At the second poetry slam of the year, which took place at IUP’s Punxsutawney campus, students read original poems on love and hurt and their passion to succeed. A crowd of over seventy-five students attended the event to support their friends as they competed for prizes for the best poem.
English Education major Donta Drew was awarded first prize at the event.
The slam is just one event on IUP’s Punxsutawney campus at which students have the opportunity to display their talents. Dr. Lynn Shelly and Jess Haggerty of the English Department organized the event.
