Dr. Keri Kulik of the Department of Health and Physical Education was elected to serve a three-year term (as chair-elect, chair, and past chair) on the Exercise Physiology Academy Committee of the National Association for Sport and Physical Education, an association of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance.
The purpose of this committee is to provide leadership and promote national participation and collaboration among exercise physiology researchers in health and physical education. The inclusion and application of exercise physiology research is critical to the evolution of the disciplines of health and physical education, especially to address rising concerns over childhood obesity, physical inactivity, and shrinking school budgets.
