Paul Hrabovsky and Meghan Gregorakis, Department of Developmental Studies, copresented a paper at the thirty-fourth annual conference of the National Association for Developmental Education in Columbus, Ohio, on March 12, 2010.

The title of their presentation was “Classroom Scheduled SI for Developmental Mathematics Model: It Works.” Hrabovsky and Gregorakis presented pre- and post-test results from ACT Compass Math, grades in the developmental math courses, and grades from the College Algebra course compared to previous developmental math course models used at IUP.

Their research indicated that success rates with the current Monday through Friday developmental math course/SI model is linked with greater student success in both the terminal developmental math course and the concurrent college-level math course at a significantly greater rate than the traditional Monday-Wednesday-Friday model.
