Museum Opens “Paint and Pixels” Exhibit

IUP’s University Museum opens its final exhibit for the season, “Paint and Pixels,” with a public reception on Thursday, March 25, 2010. The free reception will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the University Museum, located on the first floor of IUP’s John Sutton Hall.

The exhibit showcases the work of twin brothers, Ron and Don Donoughe. Originally from Loretto, Pa., both are graduates of IUP’s Art Department, having charted different but equally successful artistic paths. Don Donoughe MillsTheir combined exhibit will range from the visual excitement of high-end commercial art by graphic artist Don to an eighty-piece mural wall highlighting the the beauty and the warmth of Indiana County by painter Ron.

“Paint and Pixels” is a tribute to local talent, the quality of the Department of Art at IUP, and the faculty that has for many years helped to refine that talent. Ron DonougheIt is also a testament to the intellectual, artistic, and scenic richness of our region.

The exhibit will run March 25 through May 1. Admission is free and is open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 2:00 to 6:30 p.m.; Thursday from noon to 7:30 p.m.; and Saturday from noon to 4:00 p.m.
