The Hispanic Heritage Council, along with the Office of Social Equity and Civic Engagement, will host a Spring Celebration and Fundraiser to benefit an IUP student, Berenice Lopez Gomez.
Berenice, a Hospitality Management/Spanish Department major, is currently in the Hershey Medical Center receiving dialysis treatment and is in need of a kidney transplant. Her family has no medical insurance. All proceeds will fund her medical treatment.
The event will take place in the Crimson Event Center on Saturday, April 10, 2010, from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. and will feature IUP’s own Ritmo Latino Dance Crew. A variety of dance workshops will be offered throughout the evening and will include tango, salsa, and merengue.
