On February 19, 2010, David Stein, professor and director of the Speech-Language Pathology program, was sworn in as a member of the Pennsylvania Board of Examiners in Speech, Language, and Hearing (the state license board).
Prior to that, he resigned from the Executive Board of the Pennsylvania Speech-Language-Hearing Association, because by law he cannot hold a position on the Board of Examiners while holding his position as past president of the state professional association.
