The Eberly College of Business and Information Technology at IUP hosted Pennsylvania Phi Beta Lambda’s (PBL) State Executive Council (SEC) meeting on February 20, 2010.
This monthly meeting was to discuss the final details of the State Leadership Conference, which will be coming up April 9–11 in Harrisburg.

In the meeting, the state officers (Lisa Beers, Bloomsburg University, state president; Holly Schoch, Bucknell University, state vice president; and Charles DeCarlo, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, state treasurer) presented the layout for the conference. This consisted of the budget, workshops, speakers, meals, complimentary gifts, sponsors, awards, and much more. The state advisors (Barb Gehan and Bob Kollar of Duquesne University and Lucinda Willis of IUP) supported the plans and helped in determining decisions made by the SEC.
To bridge communications between the state and local levels, representatives from IUP’s local PBL chapter were present to give feedback and observe the SEC meeting. This opportunity enabled the SEC to understand what is happening at the local level and incorporate ideas from local chapters in Pennsylvania into the State Leadership Conference planning.
Lisa Beers, Pennsylvania Phi Beta Lambda president, appreciated the event, saying “Thank you for having us. We appreciate everything your chapter and school have provided, and we look forward to holding future meetings at the Eberly College of Business. We would also like to extend our gratitude to the Eberly College for their support in helping with the arrangements along with providing breakfast and lunch.”
