Three graduate students in the Master’s of Science in Biology program received research grant awards from the IUP School of Graduate School and Research.
The awards were:
- $373 to Erica Meyers to study “Identification of the Floal Scent Compounds Emitted by Symplocarpus foetidus.” Erica is supervised by Dr. Sandy Newell.
- $992 to Mickey Moffe to study “Influence of Metal Concentrations, Percent Salinity and Length of Exposure on the Metabolic Rate of Golden Shiners.” Mickey is supervised by Dr. David Pistole.
- $1,000 to Lauren Wheatall to study “The Effects of White-tailed Deer Browing on Insect Diversity in the Allegheny Hardwood Forests.” Lauren is supervised by Dr. Tim Nuttle.
