Job Search Guru Don Asher to Speak on Campus

The Career Development Center presents Don Asher, an internationally acclaimed author and speaker specializing in professional development and higher education. Mr Asher will visit IUP on Monday and Tuesday, January 25 and 26, 2010. Mr. Asher, the “Job Search Guru,” has spoken on campus annually with a very positive response from IUP students.

Mr. Asher will present to International Students on Monday at 3:00 p.m. in G5 Delaney Hall about building a career plan with both U.S. and global options, with topics such as “Why U.S. Employers Hire Internationals” and “Weird Things Americans Say.” At 6:00 p.m., he will be the presenter at the Six O’Clock Series in the HUB Ohio Room, explaining how to beat 1,000 to 1 odds to land your dream job!

For students interested in graduate studies, a program is scheduled for Tuesday, January 26, at 6:00 p.m. in the Northern Suites Multi-Purpose Room 116, where Mr. Asher will describe how to gain admission to highly competitive graduate programs. Find out why you should or should not go to graduate school and the value of a Ph.D. program.

Mr. Asher’s presentations are fast, fun, and engaging. You will laugh and learn and stay ahead of the curve!
