IUP’s Native American Awareness Council (NAAC) will be celebrating American Indian Heritage month on November 7, 2009, in the Delaware Room at the Hadley Union Building from noon to 5:00 p.m.

There will be a variety of performances by Bill Crouse and the Allegany River Indian Dancers and the Drums of the Native Sisters, along with several arts, crafts, and food vendors. Photography is allowed.

NAAC, a component of the Office of Social Equity and Civic Engagement, was created to inform the university and the wider Indiana community about historical and contemporary issues in Native America. The council pays special attention to the past and present history of native peoples in Pennsylvania and Eastern Woodlands.

The event is free, and both the IUP and Indiana communities are welcome to attend.
