News Report on H1N1 (Swine Flu) Preparedness Features IUP

IUP was recently featured in a report by Johnstown station WJAC-TV about how schools are preparing for cases of H1N1, also known as swine flu.

According to the report, preparations have included implementing hand-sanitizing stations and hanging posters that reinforce preventive measures, such as covering your cough.

Michelle Fryling, Media Relations director, reported that officials are encouraging students to stay home when they feel sick and asking professors to be flexible with student absences due to illness. University officials are also meeting regularly to discuss the pandemic plan and distribution of inoculations. No cases at IUP had yet been reported.
