IUP is taking precautions to prepare for the H1N1 virus, more commonly known as the Swine Flu.
You may have noticed brightly colored posters and hand-sanitizer dispensers being installed around campus. The posters are urging everyone to cover coughs with tissues or sleeves and to use the hand sanitizers when entering/leaving a building or classroom. The hand-sanitizer dispensers have been installed in various locations, such as building entrances, stairwells, classrooms, offices, etc.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is urging everyone to follow its guidelines. The guidelines include having sick students, faculty, and staff stay home, and encourage hand-washing and other proper hygiene and regular cleaning of surfaces that students and staff touch.
