The Health Service will be available with limited hours for clinical care during Summer 2009 beginning May 4.
While the administrative office will be open throughout the summer from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for administrative support, clinical care will be offered from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Clinical hours will be staffed by registered nurses as well as either nurse practitioners or a physician. All of the services provided throughout the school year will be available by coordination with the nursing staff.
Important summer points to keep in mind:
- Students must be taking summer credits to be eligible for summer services.
- There are currently no mandatory summer health fees in place. (There is no need to apply for waivers.)
- No money is needed at the time of the visit.
- All care is available on a fee-for-service basis in the summer, with any charges billed through the IUP Bursar’s Office.
- There is a basic visit fee of $30 applied to each visit during the summer, which does not include medications or lab fees. Contact the administrative office for questions about fees.
- Services of the Center for Health and Well-Being are also available during the summer by contacting their offices directly.
- Health insurance is available through Consolidated Health Plan for the summer. (Student must be taking summer credits to be eligible for summer insurance coverage.)
- The Health Service will be closed on Memorial Day and on July 3 to observe the summer holidays.
- Summer care ends August 6, 2009.
For emergency care when we are not open, go to Indiana Regional Medical Center’s emergency department or call 911 (9-911 if on campus). There is a blue emergency phone at the front of the Center for Health and Well-Being (Suites on Maple East) at the corner of Pratt and Maple.
