Effective September 1, 2009, the John P. Murtha Institute for Homeland Security will be relocated from the Office of the President to the Division of Academic Affairs.
The mission of the Murtha Institute is to provide quality educational programs, conduct significant research, and provide effective community outreach in the areas of homeland security and homeland defense. Its focus areas are education, outreach and training, and research and development in homeland security, which includes emergency management, public health preparedness, security and intelligence, and homeland defense.
Created in 2005, the Murtha Institute will continue to be located at the Suites on Grant in Suite G12.
