Child and Family Studies Program Offers Classes for Early Care and Education Practitioners

External funding enabled the IUP Child and Family Studies Program to offers classes for early care and education practitioners in 2009.

Dr. Fredalene Bowers secured $40,000 in external funding to develop a special partnership between IUP’s Human Development and Environmental Studies Department, the Northwest Regional Key, and Indiana County Head Start. Mrs. Marion Henry was the instructor for a six-credit Child Development associate course in the Child and Family Studies program. Twenty-four students successfully completed the course, and a banquet was held on May 29 to recognize the students. Lydia Cerroni of Northwest Regional Key was the keynote speaker.

Also attending the banquet were Marion Henry, instructor; Fredalene Bowers; and Mary Swinker, department chairperson.
