Student DeStefano’s Award-Winning Artwork Coming to University Museum

IUP student Vincent DeStefano gained recognition in 2006 for drawing “When I was Your Age.”

The artwork was hung in the U.S. Capitol and earned DeStefano a national art award at sixteen years old. The artist based his graphite drawing from photographs of coal miners and the Indiana County, Pa., mining history. In addition to being displayed at the U.S. Capitol, the drawing will also be exhibited at the IUP University Museum.

Vincent continues his education at IUP, and is still pursuing his career in art.
