New faculty members will get acquainted with one another and with the techology needed to move smoothly through designing and organizing classes. Breakfast and lunch will be included!
August 25, 2009
Time: 8:00 a.m.–4:15 p.m.
Location: Crimson Event Center, Folger
Presentations and informal discussions regarding support for teaching and research, questions about tenure and promotion, and advice from newer faculty members.
August 26, 2009
Time: 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (tenure-track faculty members will finish at 4:00)
Location: Breakfast and lunch will be in the Crimson Event Center, Folger. Sessions will be in the Eberly College of Business and Information Technology.
New faculty members will be able to speak with colleagues about their best practices in teaching IUP students and discuss research funding and ways of balancing research and teaching at IUP. Temporary faculty members will learn how to navigate the various computer applications, hear about instructional support, and hear from union representatives.
