Best Practices Workshop: Environmental Health in the Home, Work, and Community

The workshop “Best Practices: Environmental Health in the Home, Work, and Community” will be held on September 24, 2009, at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. This is open to all interested nurses, students, and healthcare professionals who want to learn more about environmental exposures in our homes, workplaces, and communities.

Nurses are increasingly taking leadership in the emerging world of environmental health, and environmentalist leaders are increasingly discussing human health outcomes of environmental degradation. This is an opportunity to bring our two powerful communities together again to discuss how we might be able to work together on policy and legislative issues at the state level.

  • Reinforce the link between health and the environment.
  • Explore chemical legislative and policy issues.
  • Explore opportunities for collaboration between state nursing association lobbyists and local environmental organizations.

The workshop is hosted by the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association’s Environmental Task Force.

Deadline to register is September 14, 2009.

For more information and a registration form, please visit the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association website or download the workshop brochure (pdf).
